About Us

     The Donegal Animal Hospital's mission is to always provide the highest quality of veterinary medical and surgical care for our clients and patients in a professional, caring and timely manner. We want every action with our patients and interaction with our clients to reflect our goal of providing compassionate care to pets and their people.

     Our Philosophy- Our clients are our close friends, as well as our customers, and we value their continued trust and goodwill. Courtesy and patience with clients and their pets are our priorities. An attitude of "We are glad you are here" is conveyed to each and every client.

     The Donegal Animal Hospital was established in 1989 and was purchased by Dr. McGrath in 1993. From a staff of just Dr. McGrath and his wife, practicing at their home, DAH has grown to a staff of 10 and 2 other veterinarians and a new location. Dr. McGrath worked for Dr. Harpster and Dr. Albright when they owned West Shore Animal Hospital. After establishing his practice here in Mount Joy, Dr. Harpster and Dr. Albright came to work for him. Combined they have 85+ years of experience.
     On staff are Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT) who have graduated from an American Veterinary Medical Association accredited college and are licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These CVTs work closely with the veterinarians to provide excellent animal care. Like their human health care counterparts, Veterinarians and Certified Veterinary Technicians are required to accumulate educations hours each year to remain licensed. You can be assured that they are knowledgable and on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine.
