Thomas J. McGrath, DVM, PhD

Thomas J. McGrath, DVM, PhD
     Dr. Mcgrath is a native of the Hudson River Valley of New York. He received his BS from Cornell University and his MS, DVM and Ph.D. degrees from Texas A & M University. He has practiced in Pennsylvania since 1987 and acquired this practice in 1993. His special interests are in surgery, especially orthopedic surgery.
     When Dr. McGrath is not at the hospital, he is doing something outside: golf, shooting sports, hiking, biking. His other interests are live music and fitness.

Cynthia L Albright, VMD

Cynthia L. Albright, VMD
     A native of Lewisberry, PA, Dr. Albright received her BS from Lebanon Valley College and VMD from the University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests are in internal medicine including dermatology and cardiology.
     Dr. Albright is the proud recipient of the 2006 Doris Day Animal Foundation's Kindred Spirit Award and is the only Pennsylvanian to be so honored. The award is given by the Foundation to individuals who have shown extraordinary compassion or kindness towards animals and who inspired others to follow their fine example. Dr. Albright is a cellist with the York Symphony Orchestra and The Andante Piano Trio. She enjoys running and gardening. She and her dog, Beka, are members of Therapy Dog International and visit retirement homes.

Jeffrey Dill, DVM

Jeffrey Dill, DVM
     Dr. Dill is from St. Louis, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri for an undergraduate degree in animal science. He recieved his DVM in 2008 from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. His special interests are emergency and critical care as well as surgery. While away from the clinic he enjoys golfing, running, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He also spends his free time with his wife Erin and their dogs Charlie and Olive.

Penelope Kesckes

Penelope Kesckes, Practice Manager
     Penny is relatively new to the field of veterinary medicine but brings with her many years of business management as well as her love of animals. A native of York, PA, she received her BS in English with a minor in Biology from Waynesburg College. Her special interest is genetics and animal behavior.
     Showing and training her dogs takes up most of her free time but she does enjoy fishing, reading and brain games

Michelle Crist, CVT

Michelle Crist, CVT
     Michelle graduated from Wilson College with a BA in Veterinary Technology, after growing up in Halifax. Michelle is a Certified Veterinary Technician and has worked for Dr. McGrath since 1999. She is especially interested in feline medicine and has cats of her own.
     Bird watching, gardening and lazy days at the river are her ways of relaxing.

Kari Herchelroth, CVT

Kari Herchelroth, CVT
     Kari started her career as a veterinary assistant at Donegal Animal Hospital in 2000. She enjoyed her job so much, she attended Wilson College earning a BS in Veterinary Medical Technology and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2003. Her interests include dentistry, feline medicine, radiology and laboratory techniques.
     Away from the hospital, Kari enjoys reading, movie watching, pet sitting, and spending time with her family and pets.

Kari Herchelroth, CVT

Shannon Mason, CVT
     Shannon joined our team in April 2011. She graduated from the program of veterinary technology at Manor College in December 2010. Originally from Philadelphia, Shannon has worked in the veterinary field since 2006. Her interests include internal medicine, dentistry, and emergency/critical care. When not caring for patients, Shannon enjoys spending her free time with her family and pets.

Erin Mattern

Erin Mattern, Veterinary Technician
     Erin attended Delaware Valley College and earned a BS in Animal Biotech and Conservation. She has been a veterinary technician assistant at Donegal Animal Hospital since 2005. Her special interests are sample preparation and radiology.
     Anything outside with her dog, Freddie, is what helps clear Erin's head. She also enjoys spending time with her dragon and her bunny

Alexandra Bohlander

Alexandra Bohlander, Veterinary Assistant
     Allie joined the Donegal staff in spring of 2007. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2000. In addition to taking a course in laboratory procedures, she also received a certificate in bookkeeping.
     Allie enjoys spending her time doing outside work, reading and sewing.

Leslie Steele-McDermott

Leslie Steele-McDermott, Veterinary Assistant
     Leslie joined our team in February 2010. Cats, exotic pets, surgery, and behavior are her veterinary interests. Her favorite breed of dog is the Corgi. She has 2 cats, pet rats, hermit crabs, and a betta and says she hopes to adopt a Corgi someday.
     Leslie is a student at HACC and is studying Web Design and Development. She enjoys spending time with her family and pets, watching Pixar movies and going to the pool. Her other interests are making web graphics and page designs, digital photography, reading, floral arranging and making hammocks for her rats.

Jessica Brenaman

Jessica Brenaman, Certified Veterinary Assistant
     Jessica graduated from high school in 2009 and got her Veterinary Assistant certificate from Lancaster County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC) in 2010. During her schooling at LCCTC, she did her volunteer and clinic hours at Donegal Animal Hospital, learning and experiencing a lot during those times. She enjoys working with and helping both dogs and cats. She is owned by 5 dogs, 2 cats, 2 rabbits, a bird and some fish. Jessica is a native of Mount Joy.
     In her free time, she likes spending time with her boyfriend and has an interest in photography. She also enjoys playing sports such as softball.
